Laura invited Anna and me to la cabana for some weekend wakeboarding. Besides my normal ride, I got to try out the air chair! It is a crazy contraption that was half water ski and half child car seat. It felt very strange being strapped onto a board with a colossal, wicked […]

I am an exhibitionist. I like to play Risk in public. We’ve played Risk by pools, on the Hoover Dam, and in the middle of Red Rocks. Today we added the Boston Common to the list of places. It is always fun when we play in crowded places; everyone around has […]

I woke up this morning to find myself still at Sean’s lakehouse! I love wakeboarding early in the morning because there is never anyone else out on the lake, and the water is so smooth. I had to get back into Boston though because my Dad was coming to visit for a couple […]

I am back in Boston now, and my first order of buisness was to get out on the water! I stopped in at IBM and grabbed my wakeboard, and am now out at Sean’s for the first wakeboarding of the summer!

I am back in Dublin again, and today we toured the Guinness brewery. It was a very polished tour, but you don’t actually get to see the Guinness being made since that is done in another part of the factory. The end of a brewery tour is always the best part. Jeremy […]

During the year I run an underground poker game. For my last week in town, we decided to actually hold the game underground! To spice the game up, we played on Steve’s pool table for the actual “felt” feel of a casino table. The chips splashed into the pot much more quietly, […]

It was Friday night, so what better to do than take over the world! Everyone came over to my house to give it a try. The new Risk boards come with a slimmed down version of the rule book. We played by the 1980 Risk rules, with all the optional rules for […]

I drove home to Stevens Point Thursday after classes were done for the week. Friday I went out to dinner at a new place near Skipp’s. The Middletown Grill and Tavern (formerly Rhody’s) was a polite hometown bar and grill style joint. The chairs and tables were plain, the menu’s pretty basic […]

Jeremy came up to Minneapolis to see my new place, and was just in time for the bi-weekly poker night! We had a good turnout with Jeremy, Steve, Raygor, Stefan, the two Chrises, and I vying for the tournament pot. After a long dry spell, I finally won! Raygor believes I never […]

My friends and I have quite a few traditions: Trivia in April, Halloween in Madison, the Christmas party, a cross country New Years trip, the February party, and the annual apple picking weekend. With fall fast approaching, it was time to head out into the orchards. Ben, Davy, and Christian drove west, […]

I was interviewed by CURB magazine about trivia this week, and wanted to share my answers with everyone!
Hi Dan, what’s your trivia name and where did it originate from?
Our team is the Norwigan Studs, intentionally spelled incorrectly for 10 years. Our website is http://www.norwiganstuds.com. We began playing as a group of friends from […]

Today at practice it was so chilly I had to wear a wetsuit while wakeboarding! A friend tells me girls like it when guys wear their wetsuit half open. I’ll have to keep that in mind and work on my pecks!

Every sport has its own Natalie Portman. Snowboarding and Skiing have bottomless powder, a wind at 45 degrees while sailing, or a cheesy meatloaf song playing during bowling league. This morning we were faced with the perfect conditions for wakeskating, a lake as smooth as glass!
Today I flew over a mirror as I […]

Today I examined the Kai Althoff exhibit at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Kai had a large number of watercolor works, along with a few video and music selections. An interesting piece was a room filled with garbage from a local landfill. It reminded me of one of my old roommate’s room.
Later […]

It was my fifth time out wakeboarding this summer, and I finally landed my first jump. This of course was accompanied by several spectacular crashes and superman like aerobatic maneuvers!
