It was Ben’s birthday yesterday, so I drove down to the Wisconsin Dells to pay him a visit, and Jeremy also drove to up from Madison. Ben was working the afternoon away at the Army Ducks, so I jumped on for a free ride. I even got to go through the “drivers only” entrance. We cruised around in vintage 1940’s style, and plunged into Lake Delton, Dell Creek, and the Lower Dells. I enjoyed his scripted bad jokes. Ben also works as a bartender at Field’s Steak & Stein. We joined him at his second job and talked to the locals. Mr. Field gave us free drinks all night which was quite nice. After receiving all these gifts on Ben’s birthday, we were finally able to take him out downtown for a late dinner and some drinks.
