Traveling through the Missouri wine country, I decided to stop at the Baltimore Bend vineyard. They grow a variety of American and French grapes: Chardonel, Chambourcin, and Cynthiana to name a few. While these grapes can be mixed to form sweet wines, I prefer them in their natural dry and fuller body forms. After the tasting, I fell in love with their 2003 Chambourcin. It was an excellent medium that the girl said was aged for 14 months in American Oak. I garnered a hint of chocolate from the wine as well. [Update] I still have a bottle in my cellar that I have been saving for a special occasion, and if you ask perhaps we can open it up.
