Today was the beginning of our road trip to Missouri. Our first adventure was in Austin, MN at the Hormel SPAM Museum. Ben, Steve, and I walked right in and started our free tour. My favorite exhibit was the SPAM packing. After dressing up in Hormel overcoats and hard helmets, we had a competition to see who could pack, seal, cook, and label cans of SPAM the fastest. I came out the winner with a time of 61 seconds. The SPAM Exam was also fun. It was a game show where three contestants pitted their knowledge of the tasty meat against the clock and each other. Luckily there were three of us and no one else in the museum. Sad to say I lost the SPAM Exam and wound up buying a round of drinks. Too bad we weren’t playing for beer during the spam packing.
