Patricia is in love with Ireland and with dancing. This makes Irish dancing one of her favorites! Friday we drove down to Madison for the weekend to see the Trinity Irish Dance show at the overture center. We had some tasty Salmon for dinner at Madison’s Dining and Diversions on King Street, and headed over to the show.
Ben had stood Jeremy up, so Jeremy invited his good friend Scott to come along. We were the last ones into the theatre, late as always, and everyone in the overture center watched us walk up to our first row seats! The title of the show was a little misleading; the show also included some Irish music performances. We were right next to the musicians on stage, and got a bird’s eye view of all the fancy footwork. Their feet moved lighting-quick, creating a rhythm that matched the traditional Irish music. Trisha was ecstatic. At the end of the show the music had my heart pounding. We ended the evening across the street at the White Horse for drinks.
To make it a completely Irish weekend, we went out for a late breakfast at the new Irish pub on capital square. Brocach recently opened to rave reviews in the Madison papers as a fun drinking establishment. The secret is that they also serve some mouth-watering Irish food. The traditional Irish fare was delicious, and I must go back to try a few more dishes.
