I saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow last night. It was really a throwback to the futuristic 1930’s scifi B movie. I enjoyed the visual effects: mechanized armies controlled by a radio tower, flying airports, zeppelins, and a P51 that doubled as a submarine! There were also several appearances of Angelina Jolie�s smile. Edward Shearmur’s score fit right into the crazy world, transporting me back into the post war era. Raygor started jumping up and down when Jane Monheit sang “Somewhere over the Rainbow” during the credits.
