About

I admit that sometimes I am not the easiest person to keep track of. Jetting off to here and there; I am never at home by my phone. Hopefully you can keep up to date with these notes. --Dan

Yesterday afternoon Trisha called in sick to work, and we rolled out of town on a trip to Illinois. She is such a little rebel! Normally there is nothing in the flatland to the south, but yesterday one of my favorite bands was playing! The Corrs released a new album and took a break from their world tour to perform a few shows in the US. We stopped in Madison to pick up Jeremy and Sheila, and then drove down to Chicago.

After pulling into the Ravinia festival grounds, we quickly found some food and tasty chocolate deserts. We spread out our blankets and candles, and laid down under the stars for the show. Sophia B Hawkins opened with her hits “As I Lay Me Down” and “Damn I Wish I was Your Lover”. I enjoyed “Lose Your Way” which I remembered from The Creek. It was a nice set, but the best was yet to come! The Corrs were simply amazing! The mix of classic Irish sound fused with modern rock was a real delight. Traditional songs such as “Trout in the Bath” and “Toss the Feathers” were spiced up with a modern beat and electric edge. The songs came mostly from Talk on Corners and their new album Borrowed Heaven. I was very excited when Andea sang “When the Stars Go Blue”, even if it was without Bono! As we left the concert grounds around midnight, my knees were still bouncing to Sharon’s unforgettable violin solos.
